Alan Gregerman

Alan Gregerman is an award-winning author, consultant and keynote speaker who has been called "one of the most original thinkers in business today" and "the Robin Williams of business consulting." His work focuses on helping companies and organizations to unlock the genius in all of their people in order to deliver the most compelling value to their customers. His two books--Surrounded by Geniuses and Lessons from the Sandbox--break the mold by challenging our thinking about people, the world around us and where brilliant ideas actually come from.

I'm the President and Chief Innovation Officer of VENTURE WORKS Inc., a consulting firm focusing on strategy and innovation, and the author of two books, "Surrounded by Geniuses: Unlocking the Brilliance in Yourself, Your Colleagues, and Your Organization" (now available wherever thoughtful books are sold) and "Lessons from the Sandbox: Using the 13 Gifts of Childhood to Rediscover the Keys to Business Success."

My real passion is helping organizations to win in the most competitive marketplaces by discovering the magic in their own people and a world around them filled with compelling ideas and possibilities. I'm also the founder of Passion for Learning, Inc., a nonprofit organization that works with business and the broader community to build innovative partnerships that inspire at-risk children to reach their full potential as students and life-long learners.

I was born in Boston, grew up in Berkeley, went to college in Evanston and Ann Arbor, and live in the Washington, D.C. area in the remarkable city of Silver Spring, Maryland, with my wonderful wife Lisa, a labor and delivery nurse and educator, our three highly amusing and energetic kids, and a ninety-two pound flat-coated retriever who might be the most lovable smelly creature on the planet.
